Memories

I got this from Kimberley's blog:
One Memory....
1. Leave one memory that you and I had together, as a comment on my blog. Anything goes.
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll check to see if you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.
Your memory can be about me, Pat, or both of us.

Our Past Few Weeks

Sorry I've been such a slaker the past few weeks but I do have an excuse - his name is Tyler. This is probably going to be a pretty long post so I can explain. Let me just say that this little boy has some very strong lungs. He would cry pretty much all night long every night. The longest he would sleep was about two and a half hours. Then he would be awake for about two more hours. We were exhausted and not getting ANY rest. We were still having some issues with nursing (he wouldn't eat for much longer than 10 minutes total). Things were getting progressively worse and last weekend was the absolute worst. We were actually taking turns sleeping on the floor in the living room so the other could sleep for a couple of hours. Then Tyler started screaming every time I would feed him after a minute or two and wouldn't eat anymore. I talked to the doctor and she said it sounded like he has colic and we just have to deal with it for a couple more months. I started doing some research and I read that craniosacral therapy can sometimes work in helping with colic. The massage therapist at the salon I used to work at does that so I called to see if she worked on babies. She said yes so I took him in on Tuesday to see her because I was willing to try anything. I figured it couldn't hurt. It was really weird and I don't actually know what she did, BUT IT WORKED!! He's been much better this whole week and he actually sleeps for about four to five hours every night. He actually smiles now and is such a happy baby.

Here are some pictures of the past few weeks.

We had Tyler blessed two weeks ago. I forgot to take a close up of just him, but I think my mom took one.

Tyler and Kaylee both have the same outfit so we had to take a picture of the two of them together. I think Kaylee likes her little cousin. She's always wanting to play with him.
Look how chubby our little guy is. I had him weighed Monday and he was 12 pounds 10 ounces. What a chunk! His belly is hanging over his diaper.

Today Pat was wearing a 49ers shirt so I decided that we should all wear something 49ers and take a family photo.

We just LOVED this picture and had to share it with you.

We're Still Here!

Sorry it's been so long since we've posted anything. Things have been pretty hectic around here. Hopefully I'll be able to get back on here later this weekend. We're all doing well though and I'll post lots more pictures of our little Tyler.

1 Month!

I can't believe it's already been a month since Tyler was born. It has been a great learning experience for us to be his parents. We are definitely having our patience tested! He still doesn't like to sleep at night. The longest he'll sleep is about 2 hours. He's getting so big already. I took him to the doctor on Wednesday and he is already 10 pounds 14 ounces! The reason for the visit was that I was concerned that he wasn't keeping any food down...he was having some projectile vomiting and he was only eating for maybe 10 minutes per feeding. The doctor said that he looked fine but she wanted me to take him to the hospital so he could have an ultrasound. She said they needed to make sure he didn't have piloric stenosis (some kind of swelling in the stomach). If he did have that then he would need to have surgery right away. I wanted to cry when she told me to take him to the hospital. I was very scared, but everything turned out fine. He was a champ through it all. It was rough for us to watch him laying there on that big table. We all survived though.
Friday was Tyler's one month so I got his pictures taken by Rebecca's cousin. She came to my house so it was great. I didn't have to worry about taking him out by myself. I'm still not used to that. The pictures turned out great though. I love them all and I can't decide which ones I want to get enlarged. Decisions, decisions!

It's a Miracle!!

I had to share my good news with everyone. Last night our sweet little son decided to let his mommy and daddy get some sleep. Yeah - 24th night is a charm! I was able to get almost eight hours of sleep...granted it took me 12 hours to get it. It was still sleep though. Then I was getting ready today and I actually fit into my old jeans. Today is a good day!

Our Little Cutie

Here are some pictures from the past week of little Tyler. He's had a pretty fun week I would say. Doesn't it look like he's trying to crawl away?
Here's our little California boy in his Hawaiian shirt.

Just lounging around.
I was wearing my Angels T-Shirt and Tyler was wearing his Angels jammies - he's not going to fit into them very much longer. We could barely get the shirt on him this time.
Just hangin' out with daddy!
I hope you enjoyed looking at our little bundle of joy as much as we do. It's amazing how quickly they grow on you. :)

What a big boy!

We took Tyler back to the doctor on Monday morning and he had gained one pound two ounces in just one week. I guess there was no reason for me to wonder if he was getting enough food! It's crazy that he is growing so fast. I think he's going to be a very big boy. He'll probably pass me up by the time he's 10! We've been pretty exhausted this week because Tyler decided he doesn't like to sleep anymore. All he wants to do is scream - and his scream is very loud and high pitched. The past two nights were actually not so bad except he hasn't wanted to eat very much at night and that is causing me a little discomfort. We gave him his first real bath last night and he didn't like it AT ALL. We tried to get pictures but he was moving around too much. I'll try to post some more pictures of the little guy this weekend.
