The Countdown Begins

This past week has been quite an interesting one. Last Monday afternoon I started getting a ringing in my ear and within an hour I couldn't hear out of it at all. I went to my primary doctor and he gave me an antibiotic because he told me there was some redness in my right ear and a little pressure in the other one. My OB/GYN told me it was ok for me to take it but it didn't seem to do anything. Then on Thursday I ended up going to urgent care because I was really dizzy and felt kind of sick to my stomach. They told me I needed to be taking a decongestant to get my eustachian tubes to drain. I was told that I could take regular Sudafed, but that didn't do anything either. So, now I can't hear out of my left ear except for this horrible ringing. It is so annoying!!!

I had an appointment last Wednesday and my doctor checked my cervix again. I was dilated 3 cm and 80% effaced. She said she wanted to see me back this Tuesday and if I had progressed she would probably have me deliver since Tyler is so big. I was taken off bedrest so we started walking around our apartment complex a little bit. It has been so stinking hot here the past week that I have been swelling like crazy so I have to come home and lay down and put my feet up. Anyway, the last couple of days I started thinking that I probably haven't progressed so I'll probably have to end up waiting. I went to my appointment and sure enough - no change. I am scheduled to be induced next Tuesday morning at 6am. So it looks like I'll be spending my birthday in the hospital. HOW EXCITING!!! I just have to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it. I'm sure this is going to be the longest week of my life!

Hey at least now you have a due date and it isn't just a waiting game. I am so sorry that this pregnancy hasn't always been fun! But I am glad you will be at the shower tonight! Hang in there! Tuesday is going to take forever to get here but then when it is here, you are going to be like, "Where did the week go?"

Wow congrats and good luck. Having a baby is amazing but definitely the hardest thing ever! You'll be a great mom and I bet you can't wait to meet your little guy!

I've been thinking about you all week! I know I should call but calling when the kids are up...well, that's a joke! I will keep my fingers crossed that you aren't in the hospital for your b-day but what a wonderful b-day present that will be(hopefully one day early and not 24+hrs of labor)!

It definately is ALL WORTH IT! I was induced with both Kaile and Koa and I loved it! Good luck with everything... Labor really is an amazing experience!

Well Kelly, soon it will all be over and then the real fun begins!! ha ha I totally empathize with you about the ringing in your ears. I have struggled with it for years. Hopefully it will go away after the baby is born. I will be thinking about you next week. Good luck.

Well, Kelly, I just have to tell you that spending your B-day in the hospital isn't the worst thing that could happen, in fact, it could be one of the best you've ever had. I spent 2 of my b-days in the hospital and got to bring Danny and Leslie home. Just think of the "present" you'll get to bring home.

Best of luck to you, Pat, and Baby T!

Love ya,
Karen

PS Please say hi to your mom and dad.
