January Happenings

Happy 2009 to everyone! I apologize for slacking so much the past couple of months. The longer I waited the more pictures I had. It seemed like such a big project to catch up so I kept postponing. Keep reading because I have three separate posts from this week.
Playing around in mommy and daddy's bed

What would we do without those pacifiers? Tyler loves them so much! It doesn't matter which way they're pointing...as long as part of it is in his mouth he's happy-whatever works, right?

Whenever Tyler wants something he starts waving his hands around in circles and moving his feet. Here's a still shot. Or he's flashing his sign!
Look at these dimples! I don't know how I get anything done during the day. I could just squeeze him forever!
If you thought that was cute KEEP LOOKING!!! His new thing the past couple of weeks is this really cheezy grin where he squints his eyes and all. Friday morning I went to take his picture with the monkey my mom gave him and every time I put up the camera he flashed me this grin:
The monkey is bigger than Tyler. He loves it.
Yeah Monkey!!!
Until next time!

I don't have any more pictures, but I thought this was worth posting. Friday night I had my first girls' night out since having Tyler. I went to the movies with my friend Rebecca. We saw Bride Wars and I loved it. Kate Hudson is one of my FAVORITE actresses and who doesn't like a good chick flick?

One more thing...I've been thinking for a while about making our blog private. Then last week I was looking at my friend's blog and she was making her's private too...great minds think alike. So I've decided that I will do it. If you would like to continue reading our blog, please leave your email address in the comments section and I'll send you the link. I'll wait a couple of weeks or so to give you a chance to see this. Thanks for understanding!

December and First Christmas Fun!

December was such a busy month as I'm sure it was for everyone. I took a Mommy & Me class with Tyler at the park in November and December. This is his "graduation" picture. That's Tyler's friend on the left of us. He is one week older than Tyler exactly. His mommy and I used to dance together and go to school together. I hadn't seen her since we graduated until our childbirthing class at the hospital. We were both due in June, but we both delivered in May! We thought it would be fun for us to take this class together. I think they enjoyed it. I know I did...it gave us something fun to look forward to every week. We're actually going to take the next class next month.
Now for some random December pics:

Look at those big blue eyes. Who could resist?
Tyler got to meet his (second, third cousin?) I'm not sure exactly what they are...he's my cousin's little boy. They're about two months apart but they're about the same size. Tyler hasn't grown much in the last few months. He's not in the 97th percentile anymore!
This was taken a few Sundays ago. Sundays are so difficult for us because Tyler refused to take a nap at church now. He's always pretty tired by the time we get home. I don't know what daddy's excuse was!!
I love this picture. We had a few pretty cold California days last month. It's hard to believe considering it's been in the 80s this week. I've already forgotten what it was like. I was at Target and I found this hat in the dollar bin and couldn't resist. Now on to our Holiday Fun!
Here's daddy and Tyler at the Christmas tree lot with our tree. The picture with me in it was awful but I was there too.
My mom was babysitting one day and when I got there to pick him up this is what I saw:
What do you think he was looking at?
Here's Kaylee before their ward Christmas party...I just loved this picture. What a cutie!!
Look how much fun Tyler had with Santa. No tears at all!!!
Christmas Eve: Grandma gave him a reindeer bib and some new jammies (these aren't them)
Mom! I'm naked, no pictures yet!
Here's his new jammies.
Christmas morning passing out presents at home.
Tyler with all of his presents. I don't think he needed that many!
Here they are all opened. Lots of clothes, books, & toys.
At Grandma & Grandpa's house. I think he's a little confused with all of the presents. Didn't we just do this at home an hour ago?
That wasn't the end of the day. We went to my grandparents' house for the best meal of the year...BREAKFAST!!! Then more presents. We didn't get any pics because Tyler slept through that part of the day. We had a very good Holiday and enjoyed every minute of it.

November Happenings

Unfortunately, we don't have many pictures from November because I lost my camera. I'm so sad because it was pretty new and it had pictures of Tyler that I hadn't transferred to my computer. The worst part is that the pictures from him eating cereal for the first time were on there. :( I still have my old camera but it's not as nice as the other one.
I went and had an MRI taken on my ear and brain. Lucky for me, my sister already had to go through that and told me about the open scan MRI that they have since we are both kind of clostrophobic. (I don't know if that's how to spell that or not.) I'm not a huge fan of the doctor I'm seeing and here's why. I went to get my results and when I got there they told me that they didn't have them and I would have to come back in a week. When I went back they told me that the brain and ear scans came back clear but I had a 6 cm mass in my neck. He said nothing more about it but when I asked he started feeling around and then looked at my chart he said that it was someone else's results. If I hadn't said anything I would have left thinking I had some kind of tumor! I have to go back this week to have another hearing test and see if it has improved at all.
Here are the pictures from the end of the month at least:
Tyler loves ANY food that we give him. I decided to make his food fresh. So far I've given him peas, zucchini, broccoli, green beans, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, apples, pears, and peaches. The only one we had to eliminate was the broccoli because it made him REALLY fussy. I think it must have given him a tummy ache.
Happy Thanksgiving! One day Tyler was in taking a nap and when I walked by his room I found his pacifier on his face. I left it there and when I looked again it was in his mouth. I think he was storing it there so he wouldn't lose it.

Halloween Fun

Our friends Jaime & Rebecca came over this week to carve pumpkins with us. I guess we've made it full circle - first gingerbread houses, then easter eggs, & now pumpkins.
These are our pumpkins !!! ;)Here they are finished. Unfortunately, Pat's pumpkin didn't make it to Halloween. It was FULL of mold by Thursday.

Here is our even cuter pumpkin.
My friend Diona gave Tyler this cute little outfit. It's perfect because it says Mommy's little Pumpkin & Pumpkin is one of my nicknames for Tyler. Trick or Treat! We went Trick or Treating to Grandma & Grandpa's house but we didn't leave with any candy. All that was in Tyler's little goody pail was a pacifier. I guess that's all that he needs. We did score three pieces of candy across the street though. Daddy is already stealing Tyler's candy.:)
I had to buy this costume as soon as I saw it because when Tyler was first born we said he looked like a monkey becasue his arms were so long. Luckily he's grown into them now. He was the cutest little monkey I've ever seen though!
Now on to some pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Here is Tyler with his girlfriend/co-worker Mia. They both get to spend time at work with their Mommies. They like to hang out together. Mia is 10 months old but Tyler has already passed her up in size. That's okay though because girls are supposed to be petite. Tyler is in the back office with me and Mia is out at the counter with her mom but when they both like it when they are together. Tyler always smiles when he sees her.
Here they are holding hands. It doesn't show very well in this picture but when she took his hand he got a HUGE smile on his face. He is definitely a ladies' man. We better watch out - Mia is already calling Tyler on the phone. She was playing with her grandma's cell phone and called us. I'm sure that's the first of many calls Tyler will get from girls. Just give him a few years.
This was Tyler playing in his crib when he was supposed to be sleeping (a very frequent occurance).
Isn't that just an adorable face?
Talk about a cheesy grin! He likes playing in this jumper more than the one that hangs in the doorway. He doesn't do much jumping but he does like to play with all of the toys.
I just finished knitting this little sweater vest for Tyler so he wore it to church today. Unfortunately he's not going to be able to wear it much longer since he's so big. The next size up was 12 months so I thought this would fit him through the winter at least. I guess now I'll just have to make him a bigger one. Doesn't he look kind of preppy? My grandparents bought us a highchair for Tyler yesterday. He doesn't get to start solids for another month but I put him in it today anyway. He thought it was a great place to put his feet up. Hopefully he doesn't do that when there's food sitting there!
Tyler is such a fun baby & he has such a great personality. He is always smiling and laughing. Pat and I were talking the other day and we decided that Tyler doesn't ever cry. He's either happy or he's SCREAMING. He doesn't like to go down for his naps anymore so we have to shut his door now because it is too loud to think with his door open. He usually goes for about a half an hour before he finally takes his pacifier and knocks out.
